A: Hello everyone, I am Cheng Guocong from Longdong College. I have many nicknames, but I don't know why (Chubby Cheng, Silly Cheng, Old Fellow), haha. I have participated in two and a half marathons (best time 3H10), and once placed third in a 10KM Peace Run. I won first place in the men's 20KM race walk at the third Gansu Province University Games (possibly setting a record as there was no race walk event before), and eighth place in the 10KM race walk. Of course, I also placed in the 10,000-meter run and race walk at the school sports meet.
Q: Impressive! How did you get into running?
A: It's quite an interesting story. I remember it was in the third year of middle school, and we only had one sports meet in those three years. I didn't dare to sign up because I was afraid of being laughed at for not running fast. But after that sports meet, I realized they weren't that fast either. When I got to high school, I started participating in sports meets. The longest distance back then was 3000 meters. Due to poor endurance and lack of training, I was overtaken by two people in the last 100 meters and ended up third in my first year. From then on, I promised myself to get first place the next year. With continuous effort, I stood on the top podium the following year. That's when I fell in love with running.
Q: Wow~ A true campus running god. Can you share some memorable experiences with us?
A: There are so many memorable experiences: like when I was preparing to give up the 20KM race after placing eighth in the 10KM race walk at the provincial university games, my running buddy, who is like a brother to me, said, 'He wants to get first place, don't give up.' So I decided to just walk casually. During the race, I walked slowly for the first 10KM, but as others slowed down, I got faster and more excited. That feeling is indescribable. Another memorable time was at this year's school sports meet when my training partner and I were called 'twins' and 'Big White and Little Black.' We were so well-known on campus, gaining many fans. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, haha.
Another memorable experience was the first hiking event I organized for my running group. Surprisingly, about 20 people signed up. We hiked 20 kilometers, taking nearly four hours. Although everyone was tired, they persevered. I also met a top female marathon runner from Gansu Province, Zhang Jingxia (winner of the 2012 Lanzhou Marathon and the 2015 Chongqing Marathon), at a rural marathon. Not only did I take a photo with her, but I also ran over ten kilometers with her. Her rhythm was amazing.

A: Medals are just souvenirs. I have a few offline ones, and each one is hard-earned, paid for with sweat. Many are from Codoon's online races. Back then, I signed up for online races without anyone to run with, so I had to complete them alone. Each medal represents not just physical effort but also mental perseverance.

A: Our running group is called 'Longyuan Renwoxing Running Group.' It's a united and loving family. We currently have two vice-captains, Zhang Haiyin and Sun Weihuan, a foreign minister, Di Chuan, and a strategist, Luo Long. There are also many beautiful girls, but I won't introduce them all. We don't want our running group to be constrained by formalities like other clubs. The name 'Renwoxing' means I want to run freely in Longyuan.
