[star show] perfect body pulled out
Will running make your calves bigger? Many girls have this question. In fact, as long as you warm up properly before running and stretch correctly after running, your legs will get slimmer! So how exactly should you stretch? In this week's Star Show, we invited Codoon running expert @604_Meizi to share with us how to stretch after running!
Detailed explanation of post-run stretching exercises:
1.Calf stretch: Stand against a wall, hands on the wall, press your toes against the wall and push down, keeping your back heel straight.
2.Ligament stretch:Keep your legs together; bend forward with your knees straight; try to touch your feet with your hands or press your body towards your legs; hold for 15-30 seconds; switch legs.
3.Side stretch: Open your feet about two shoulder widths apart, keep your legs straight, extend your arms in a straight line, and use one hand to touch the opposite ankle. Hold for 30 seconds, then switch sides.
4.Hip stretch:During running, part of the leg lift strength comes from the hip flexors, so this muscle group also needs a good stretch after running.Key points of this exercise: Keep the extended leg as parallel to the ground as possible, point your toes straight, and open the knee of the squatting leg outward.
5.Thigh stretch: Find a place where you can comfortably rest your leg, place one leg up with your toes pointed straight, and keep both knees straight. Hold for one minute, then switch legs.
Speaking of running, Meizi was once confused about this sport. Her running story began with a lot of struggles. Let's hear her story!
Why do I run? Like many others, it was for weight loss. I wasn't extremely overweight, but at 163 cm and over 130 pounds, I was definitely chubby. In the summer of 2015, I suddenly realized I needed to lose weight, not just for appearance but for my health. So I started jogging with two friends. Although they were also not very active, their stamina was clearly better than mine. I was out of breath after just one kilometer! They quickly gave up and jokingly said, 'You should give up too; running isn't for us!'
That time, I quietly went back home. Although I felt defeated, my pride told me not to give up. So I downloaded a running app—Codoon. I started running on June 10, 2015. The first time, I managed to run 4 kilometers, albeit with some walking. The voice prompts for each kilometer encouraged me. I could do it. I then set goals of 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers, and achieved them one by one. After a month, I completed my first half marathon and earned my first online medal.
Many people say I have a talent for running. I just smile quietly. What is talent? I only know that I have persistence. In July, I averaged 10 kilometers a day. After sweating profusely, I felt very comfortable. After two months, my weight had significantly dropped. The scale and my friends' eyes told me the truth... I had lost over 20 pounds!
Now, many Codoon friends ask me how I manage to stay consistent. I want to say that I have experienced being chubby and out of breath after a few steps. Now, nothing can stop me from running every day. Occasionally, I watch running videos to learn techniques. Although I haven't completed a full marathon yet, with the longest distance being 30 kilometers, I believe I can conquer a full marathon by controlling my pace. Keep the speed in your heart and persistence in your steps; this is my understanding after a year of running.
